RAJAB –THE SACRED MONTH.

Rajab marks the beginning of the spiritual season of every believer ending with the end of the fasting month of Ramadan with the Eid Al Fitr. This month was regarded as one of the sacred months (Al-Ashhur-al-hurum) in which battles were prohibited in the days of the Holy Prophet

rajab month is meant for preparing oneself for Ramadan and one should pray Allah to make him reach the blessed month and to benefit from its unique merits.

"O Allah, make the months of Rajab and Sha'ban blessed for us, and let us reach the month of Ramadan (i.e. prolong our life up to Ramadan, so that we may benefit from its merits and blessings)."

However, some people have invented some special rituals or practices in this month, which are not supported by reliable resources of the Shari'ah or are based on some unauthentic traditions.these are bid’ahs.

one of the biggest innovation BIDAH created by people in the month of rajab is celebration of lailathu miraaj

It is generally believed that the great event of Mi'raj (ascension of the Holy Prophet Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallamto the heavens) took place in the night of 27th of Rajab.

Indeed, the event of mi'raj was one of the most remarkable episodes in the life of our beloved Holy Prophet Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam. He was called by Almighty Allah. He traveled from Makkah to Baitul-Maqdis and from there he ascended the heavens through the miraculous power of Allah. He was honored with a direct contact with his Creator at a place where even the angels had no access. This was the unique honor conferred by Allah to the Holy Prophet Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallamalone. No doubt the night in which he was blessed with this unparalleled honor was one of the greatest nights in the history of this world.

The Holy Qur'an and the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallamdid not prescribe any festival or any celebration to commemorate an event from the past, however remarkable it might have been. Instead, Islam has prescribed two annual celebrations only. One is Eid-ul-Fitr and the other is Eid ul-Adha. Both of these festivals have been fixed at a date on which the Muslims accomplish a great 'ibadah (worship) every year. Islam has its own principles with regard to the historic and religious events.

Keeping this principle in view, the following points should be remembered with regard to the "Lailatul-mi'raj":

(1) We cannot say with absolute certainty in which night the great event of mi'raj took place. Although some traditions relate this event to 27th night of the month of Rajab,

(2) It is also not known in which year the event of Mi'raj took place. The books of history suggest a wide range between the fifth-year and the twelfth year after the Holy Prophet Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallamwas entrusted with prophethood.

Now, if it is assumed that the event of Mi'raj took place in the fifth year of his prophethood, it will mean that the Holy Prophet Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam remained in this world for eighteen years after this event. Even if it is presumed that the mi'raj took place in the twelfth year of his prophethood, his remaining life-time after this event would be eleven years. Throughout this long period, which may range between eleven years and eighteen years, the Holy Prophet Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam never celebrated the event of mi'raj, nor did he give any instruction about it. No one can prove that the Holy Prophet Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam ever performed some specific modes of worship in a night calling it the 'Lailatul-mi'raj' or advised his followers to commemorate the event in a particular manner.

(3) After the demise of the Holy Prophet Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam also, no one of his companions is reported to celebrate this night as a night of special acts of worship. They were the true devotees of the Holy Prophet Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam and had devoted their lives to preserve every minute detail of the sunnah of the Holy Prophet Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam and other Islamic teachings. Still, they did not celebrate the event of mi'raj in a particular night in a particular way.

(4) Some people suggest some special modes of worship to be performed in this night. Since no special mode of worship is prescribed by the Shari'ah in this night, these suggestions are devoid of any authority and should not be acted upon.

(5) It is believed by some that the Muslims should keep fast on 27th of Rajab. there is an authentic report that Sayyidna 'Umar, Radi-Allahu anhu, used to forbid people from fasting on this day, rather to compel them to eat if they had started fasting.

All these points go a long way to prove that the celebration of the 27th night of Rajab, being the lailatul-mi'raj has no basis in the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam or in the practice of his noble companions. Had it been a commendable practice to celebrate this night, the exact date of this event would have been preserved accurately by the Ummah and the Holy Prophet Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam and his blessed companions would have given specific directions for it.

Therefore, it is not a Sunnah to celebrate the Lailatul-mi'raj'. We cannot declare any practice as a sunnah unless it is established through authentic sources that the Holy Prophet Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam or is noble Companions have recognized it as such, otherwise it may become a bid'ah about which the Holy Prophet Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam has observed in the following words: "Whoever invents something in our religion which is not a part of it, it is to be rejected."

Being mindful of this serious warning many people celebrate this lailathul miraaj many of us never mind about this and claim that mehraj raath festival is a holy night and justify the same.they justify this by saying that this is being celebrated over many years traditionally and what is wrong in performing a good deed?.This is what our fathers and fore-fathers have done traditionally..but before stating this please go through this verse of holy quran in which Allah says

And when it is said to them, "Follow what Allah has revealed," they say, "Rather, we will follow that which we found our fathers doing." Even though their fathers understood nothing, nor were they guided?(al baqara 2:170).

Also come to a conclusion by reading these hadeeths :

the most evil affairs are their innovations; and every innovation is error.".

“If anyone introduces an innovation or gives shelter to a man who introduces an innovation (in religion), he is cursed by Allah, by His angels, and by all the people.” Narrated Ali ibn AbuTalib: Book 39, Number 4515 Abu Dawud

"I warn you of the newly invented matters
(in the religion), and every newly invented matter is an
innovation, and every innovation is misguidance, and every
misguidance is in the Hellfire" [An-Nasa'ee]

Another baseless practice in the month of Rajab is that the people bake special types of breads and, after reciting some verses and prayers on them, distribute them among their friends and neighbors. A more common practice of this type is observed on 22nd of Rajab whereby some breads and meals of a special type are prepared and distributed among the people the custom is usually known as "Koonda"and “puuran”. It is usually believed that the custom is designed to make 'isal-al-thawab to the soul of Sayyidna Jafar Al-Sadiq who himself has directed his followers to observe this custom and has promised them that whoever observes it, his desires will be fulfilled. All these assumptions also have no basis at all, neither historically, nor according to the principles of Shari'ah. The people believing in the custom refer to a coined story mentioned in an unauthentic book named "Dastaan-e-Ajeeb".Urdu book, the author of which is unknown. Therefore, this baseless custom should completely be avoided by the true Muslims.

And We have certainly revealed to you verses [which are] clear proofs, and no one would deny them except the defiantly disobedient.( Al quraan 2-99)

Salaath in mosque-27 times superior

Dear brothers and sisters.assalamualaikum

Let me highlight the salient points to be noted when one of us intent to go to mosque for salaath.

Performing the obligatory prayers in congregation is an absolutely preferred Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (saws) for the believing males of the Ummah.

Ibn 'Umar reports that the Prophet (saws) said: "Prayer in congregation is superior to a prayer performed individually by twenty-seven degrees."

Abu Hurairah also reports that the Prophet (saws) said: "By Him in whose Hand is my soul! I have considered ordering a fire to be kindled and then ask someone to lead the people in salah, and then go to the men [who did not attend the prayer in congregation] and burn their houses over them!"

Abu Hurairah narrates that the Prophet (saws) said: "When you hear the ‘iqamah’, proceed to the prayer with calm and dignity and do not rush. Pray what you can (with congregation) and complete what you miss."

It is preferred for one to walk to the mosque with calm and dignity and not in a hurry or rush. This is because the person is considered to be in prayer when he is going to the salah (and also while he is waiting for it)

It is an extremely preferred Sunnah and the guidance of the Messenger of Allah (saws) that when a believer walks towards a masjid to offer his prayers, even if the prayer has started, the believers should neither rush or hurry, but walk in a calm and dignified manner towards their place in ‘salaah’, then pray whatever they can with the congregation and complete what they have missed. It is expected that they will receive their full and due reward from their Lord.

The Messenger of Allah (saws) guided the believers to come as early as possible for their ‘salaah’ in congregation, and strive their utmost to take their positions in the first rows….for if one only knew the excellence and rewards and merits of praying the first row behind the imam, the believers would draw lots to occupy those blessed spaces!

If one is delayed for any reason in attending their prayers, the Prophet (saws) guided that one approach the masajids in a calm and dignified manner and neither run nor rush to catch their prayers.

Every mosque is the ‘house of Allah’ and in the eyes of Allah, all his slaves are equal. Mosques are built for the worship and remembrance of Allah, and there should be absolutely no distinction between rich, poor, color, status, nationality, etc. when one stands in prayer or ‘salaat’ in Islam.

for congregational prayers was that the men formed the rows immediately behind the imam leading the prayer; then the rows of children (below the age of puberty) were formed after the rows of men; and then the rows of women after the children.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 4 Surah Nisa verse 79-80:

We have sent you (O Mohamed) as a Messenger to mankind, and Allah’s witness suffices for this. Whoever obeys the Messenger, in fact obeys Allah, and whoever turns away from him, he will be accountable for his deeds. Anyhow, we have not sent you (O Mohamed) to be a guardian over them.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 3 Surah Ale Imran verse 31-32:

O Prophet, tell the people, “If you sincerely love Allah, follow me. Then Allah will love you and forgive you your sins, for He is All Forgiving, All Merciful.” Also say to them, “Obey Allah and His Messenger.” And if in spite of this, they do not accept your invitation, warn them that Allah does not love those, who refuse to obey Him and His Messenger.

So my dear mumeens insha allah let us follw guidance and commands of Allah and His Messenger (saws),and seek His help and ask for His forgiveness and pray salaath on time.

jazak allah

Dikr: Remembrance

What pulls us in the direction of evil? What causes us to commit sins? Usually, it is the charm and glamour of this world that makes us forget Allah (SWT) and his commandments. We forget that we are servants of One God and that He is fully aware of our actions and deeds, and that we will be held accountable one day before Him. We become heedless to the call of our Creator, and go astray.

Dikr, remembrance of Allah (SWT) is the solution because it reinforces our conscious alignment with the reality that Allah (SWT) is our Creator and that our position in the natural order is that of the created, and that we are dependent upon Allah's Mercy for our very existence. Ibn Taimiyaa once wrote, "Remembrance of Allah is to the heart what water is to fish. What happens to a fish when it is taken out of water?"

Remembrance of Allah drives away shaytan, suppressing him and breaking him; it is pleasing to our Rabb, dispels worry and melancholy from the heart, adorns it with delight and joy, fills the heart and face with light, and cloaks the one who remembers Allah with dignity, gentleness and freshness. It instills love for Allah, fear of Him, and relating all matters to Him. It also enhances Allah's remembrance of His servant, for as Allah says:

"Remember Me and I will remember you."

(Al-Qur’an 2:152)

We may wonder, how much should we remember Allah? Al-Qur’an responds in Surah Al-Jummah, verse 10:

"Remember Allah SWT much perhaps you may achieve success."

Further, in Surah al-Dahr, verse 25, Allah SWT says, "Remember the Name of your Lord at morning and in the evening and part of the night."

There are many other verses besides these in which it has been enjoined to keep remembering Allah always and in every condition because it is the very remembrance of Allah which keeps the affairs of man in proper shape and sustains him on the right path. Whenever he becomes heedless of His remembrance, corporeal urges and instigation of evil forces overpower him. Its inevitable consequence is that straying from the right path he will go beyond limits in the affairs of his life.

How to perform Dikr?

Today, Muslims have employed many different methods to perform Dikr. But we must be careful because some of them are simply bidah (innovation). Our Prophet (pbuh) taught us how to perform Dikr and we must rely on those teaching only to achieve this.

Al-Quran:

"Indeed we have made this Quran easy

for understanding and remembering (Dikr).

Is there any then that will take it to heart?"

(Al-Qur’an 54:17)

Al-Qur’an is the best means for bringing the servant nearer to his Lord. From regular recitation of Allah’s message with understanding, you will receive a radiant light to illumine the deeper reaches of your soul. Sincere study will generate profound emotions, a warmth to melt your heart and bring tears running down your cheeks. To read the Qur’an is nothing less than to live the Qur’an willingly, sincerely, devotedly, and totally. The outcome of your entire life depends on how you heed the call given by Allah. Every single verse of Qur’an will invite you to choose and commit to Allah.

It is imperative on us to establish such study of Al-Qur’an at individual and collective levels. We must study the Message of Allah at our homes and establish Quranic study circles in our Islamic centers.

Salah:

The whole process of Salah from wadu to prayer itself reminds us about our Creator. We start it by proclaiming that Allah is Great. Allahu Akbar. The various recitals through out the Salah remind us of our commitments to our Rabb. We seek His guidance and ask Him again and again to enable us to avoid His wrath and follow His Chosen Path.

We read out from the Qur’an and express witness to the truth of the Prophet and also refresh our belief in the Day of Judgment and stimulate in our memory the fact that we have to appear before Allah SWT and give an account of our entire life. "O ye who believe! Seek help with patient perseverance and prayer; for Allah is with those who patiently persevere." (Al-Qur’an, 2:153)

Authentic Duas:

Supplications extracted from Al-Qur’an and Sunnah are an effective tool of remembrance. We have been given specific duas for specific occasions. Supplications for events from start to the end of the day have been given to us. What to say when we get up? Enter or exit bathroom? Start or finish eating? What to supplicate before starting a journey or transaction? How to ask Allah (SWT) for help in the times of need? What words to use to thank Allah (SWT)? Duas for smaller actions such as sneezing have been specified as well.

We should memorize these authentic duas and recite them appropriately. This practice will insha Allah develop a special relationship between our Creator and us.

Observing Allah’s Signs:

"Undoubtedly in the creation of heavens and the earth and in the alternate appearance of night and day are numerous tokens (of His Sovereignty) for those who are men of understanding and considering Allah"

(Al-Qur'an 3:190)

Throughout the Quran, we are encouraged to observer our surroundings which are full of the signs of Allah. Every single one of them can facilitate our goal to remember Allah SWT much. It is incumbent on us that we reflect on the events in our daily live to strengthen our bond with our Lord.

Conclusion

In short, Dikr is a continuous process. In fact, Allah (SWT) tells us in Surah al-Imran, verse 191, "Those who remember God when they are standing and when they are sitting and when they are lying."

So with the help of above mentioned methods, we should be able to develop the habits of remembering Allah (SWT) constantly following the ways prescribed by Allah (SWT) and demonstrated by the Prophet (pbuh).

The constant remembrance will nourish and reform our hearts and minds. This practice will increase our faith to discover and grasp the message of our Rabb. Resulting in engraving faith on our hearts. But we must understand that Dikr is a vehicle. Not the destination!

Farewell Pilgrimage of the Messenger (PBUH)

Farewell Pilgrimage of the Messenger (PBUH)

In the tenth year, the Prophet (peace be upon him) announced that he intended to perform hajj; this was the only time that he performed hajj after the Hijrah to Madinah

. The following verse was revealed to him: "…This day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed My favor upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion…" (Holy Qur'an, 5:4)

A large gathering of Muslims participated in the event and listened to the farewell sermon given by the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ). Some of the scholars wrote books dealing specifically with the farewell pilgrimage.

"Verily, your blood and your property are as sacred and inviolable as the sacredness of this day of yours, in this month of yours, in this land of yours.

"Behold! Everything pertaining to the days of ignorance is under my feet completely abolished. Abolished are also the blood revenges of the days of ignorance. The first claim of ours on blood revenge which I abolish is that of the son of Rabi`ah ibn al Harith. And the usury of the pre-Islamic period is abolished, and the first of our usury I abolish is that of `Abbas ibn `Abd al Muttalib, for it's all abolished.

"Fear God concerning women! Verily, you have taken them on the security of God, and intercourse with them has been made lawful unto you by words of God. You too have rights over them, and they should not allow anyone to sit on your bed whom you do not like. But if they do that, you can chastise them but not severely. Their rights upon you are that you should provide them with food and clothing in a fitting manner.

"I have left among you the Book of God, and if you hold fast to it you would never go astray. And you would be asked about me (on the day of resurrection), (now tell me) what would you say? They (the audience) said: 'We bear witness that you have conveyed (the message,) discharged (the ministry of Prophethood) and given wise (sincere) counsel.' He (the narrator) said: He (the Prophet) then raised his forefinger toward the sky and pointed it at the people (and said): 'O God, bear witness, O God, bear witness.'" [Muslim]

He sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention )delivered another sermon at Mina, when he said, "Do not return to Kufr (disbelief,) killing one another, after I am gone." [Bukhari]

From Benefits of this Great Sermon:

1. Prohibition of shedding innocent blood, and taking of wealth without right, which stresses Islam's protection of souls.

2. Nullification of validity of actions of Jahiliyyah (Ignorance Period, before Islam.)

3. Prohibition of taking usury or interest, which is an increase on the principal, whether small or large. Allah, The Most High, says: "But if you repent, you may have your capital." [Holy Qur'an, 2:279]

4. Admonition to fulfill and give women their rights, and to deal with them in goodness. Many authentic Ahadeeth have been narrated in this regard, which elucidate their rights and warn against taking them unjustly.

5. Advice to strongly cling to the Book of Allah, in which lies the honor of Muslims and their victory. Likewise, the order to stick to the Sunnah, which explains the Qur'an. Verily, the reason for Muslims' weakness today is their leaving of judging by the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger. There will be no victory for Muslims except by returning to these two sources.

6. Testimony of the Companions that the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention )conveyed the message, discharged his trust and counseled the Ummah.

7. Order to take rituals of Hajj and other rituals from the Prophet's sayings, actions and tacit agreements.

8. Subtle indication that the Prophet's farewell would soon come.

9. Warning against fighting and killing among Muslims, which is disbelief in action, which does not take one out of the fold of Islam.

THE IDENTITY IN THE FINGERPRINT

While it is stated in the Qur'an that it is easy for Allah to bring man back to life after death, peoples' fingerprints are particularly emphasized:

Yes, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. (Qur'an, 75:4)

The emphasis on fingerprints has a very special meaning. This is because shapes and details on everyone's fingerprint are unique to each individual. Every person who is alive or who has ever lived in this world has a set of unique fingerprints. Furthermore, even identical twins having the very same DNA sequence have their own set of fingerprints.

Fingerprints attain their final shape before birth and remain the same for a lifetime unless a permanent scar appears. That is why fingerprints are accepted as a very important proof of identity, exclusive to their owner. The science of fingerprints has been used as a non-erring identity determination method.

However, what is important is that this feature of fingerprints was only discovered in the late 19th century. Before then, people regarded fingerprints as ordinary curves without any specific importance or meaning. However in the Qur'an, Allah points to the fingertips, which did not attract anyone's attention at that time, and calls our attention to their importance. This importance has only been fully understood in our day.

is "Allah" only for Islam and Muslims?

is "Allah" only for Islam and Muslims?
Is "Allah" only for Islam and Muslims?
[No! It is for All Three Abrahamic Faiths.]

"Allah" is the same word used by Christian Arabsand Jewish Arabsin their Bible, centuries before Islam came.

On page one [1] of Genesis in the Old Testament, we find the word "Allah" seventeen [17] times.

Every hotel and motel has a Bible. Next time you see one look in the introduction, you will find samples of the different languages they have translated. For Arabic they have translated the verse in the New Testament in Arabic from the famous verse in the Gospel John 3:16 -

"For God so loved the world . . . "
- and the word the translators used in Arabic for "God" is the very same word used by Muslims around the planet, "Allah."
Where Does the word "Allah" Come From?

"Allah" comes from the Arabic word "elah"a god' or something worshipped. - (Arabic) means '

This word (elah) can be made plural (gods), as in "aleha" and it can be male or female just as the word in English can be "goddess."

"Allah" comes from "elaha" but it brings more clarification and understanding.

Allah= Has no gender (not male and not female)
"He" is used only out of respect and dignity - not for gender
Allah = Always singular - Never plural
"We" is used only as the "Royal WE" just as in English for royalty
Allah =Means "The Only One to be Worshipped"

Never think that you have reached the final stage of knowledge and
nobody knows more than yourself. Remember! Above everyone endowed with

Prophet [p.b.u.h] was asked to keep praying, "O My sustainer! Advance
me in knowledge." [20:114]

. Treat kindly

" The orphans
" And those who have been left alone in the society [4/36]

Cooperate with one another in good deeds and do not cooperate with
